Hate on Miley all you want, but she continues to be a force in the music industry today. When I heard that Miley was covering Lana Del Ray’s hit “Summertime Sadness” I immediately had to check this out. 1. Because the original is a dope record. 2. I’m interested in what Miley Cyrus is doing musically. I actually think this chick has some vocal chops. She’s no Whitney by any means. I mean she ain’t even a Demi Lovato. But she has something about her that’s relevant. She’s edgy, she’s different, she’s spontaneous, and she does have a lot of talent. True story. Miley stopped by the BBC Live Lounge (which is home to some of the coolest artists dropping in and performing dope covers) and played a beautiful acoustic version of “Summertime Sadness.” Her version is just dope. Accompanied by backup vocalists, a guitar player, and a percussionist, Miley goes in with raw, strong vocals, doing the Lana Del Ray song justice. I loved it. Let me know what you think.  I think it’s better than the original. Please enjoy today’s SOTD, “Summertime Sadness,” covered by Miley Cyrus.
