It’s THROWBACK THURSDAY, so I had to dig in the crates for today’s SOTD. But I have made the selection of one of my favorite songs from the 90’s, “Cannonball” by the Breeders. From the first minute I heard this song, I was obsessed with it. That bass line…ohhhh the infamous bass line that opens this classic is just nasty. “Cannonball” was the centerpiece of their most commercially successful album, 1993’s Last Splash. Led by Kim Deal of the Pixies and Tonya Donelly of Throwing Muses, the Breeders were one of the originators of the early 90’s alternative movement. “Cannonball” remains one of the bands biggest hits to date and was very influential upon it’s release back in 93. I also loved the video for this song. It was directed by Spike Jonze and Kim Gordon. Pretty cool Snapple Fact.  Enjoy this throwback classic from the Breeders. Here is “Cannonball.”
