Every once in awhile a star is born. I think we may have the next female superstar on our hands. She goes by Banks, but her full name is Jillian Banks. She is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, and she is starting to make a splash with her debut EP, London. She has been catching on across the pond in the UK, where she was nominated for a Sound of 2014 award by the BBC. “Change” is a sultry jam that showcases Banks writing skills and smooth vocals. She reminds me of a less pop Ellie Goulding mixed with the Weeknd. She’s got a dark vibe to her, but an honesty thats raw and inviting. Her biggest influences are Lauryn Hill and Fiona Apple, so she’s in pretty good company there. “Change” is one of my favorite tracks off London, and it is one I think you will enjoy.
