I think that Tennis is one of the most underrated acts in music today. They haven’t broke yet to become household names, but they should be a band that you have in your rotation. The band is a husband and wife duo from Denver, Colorado, Alania Moore and Patrick Riley. They met in college, fell in love, and now make beautiful music together. What a fairy tale right? They have released two pretty dope albums, 2011’s Cape Dory and 2012’s Young & Old, which was produced by Patrick Carney of the Black Keys. Everytime I hear something new from this duo, I am impressed. Their live act holds up as well. I caught them last year at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, and was blown away by how great they sounded live. Today’s SOTD is a fierce cut called “Mean Streets” off their Small Sound EP. The groove in this song is on point and Alania Moore’s vocals are just pristine. After hearing this song, I bet you’ll add Tennis into your rotation.
