One of the things on my list of to do’s over the next couple months is read the book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It’s supposed to be an incredible book. They have also turned this book into a movie which is set to come out this summer starring Hollywood’s it girl, Shailene Woodley, that will be sure to make the teens and romantics go crazy. The book is about two teenage kids who fall in love after meeting in a cancer support group. Big buzzed about movies usually come with decent soundtracks and the compliation of music for this film doesn’t disappoint. Charli XCX, who has been making quite a name for herself on the music scene either with her own solo work or playing sidekick to Iggy Azalea, has dropped an old school “80’s sounding” banger as the movie’s first single and today’s SOTD. The joint is called “Boom Clap” and it shadows the early works of Madonna, The Jets, and Expose. Heavy drums, synths, and a sing out loud chorus are all components of “Boom Clap.” The song takes me back to my youth, yet it sounds very current in the scope of today’s modern music. I have no doubt that this movie is going to be a huge hit, so look for this song to blow as well. Enjoy the weekend ya’ll and get some “Boom Clap” in your world.
