Had to give Solange a little bit of love this week. This has been a bad week for the first family of music. Unless you have been living under a rock, Solange Knowles has been all over the news for her elevator tirade against her brother in law Jay Z at an after party for the MET gala in New York. Sister Beyonce stood by and watched Solange go off on her husband. Must See TV right? It baffles me that this ridiculous story even made headline news, but Solange redeems herself in a big way on this track off the new Chromeo album, White Women. Solange has teamed up with electrofunk duo Chromeo on the track “Lost On the Way Home.” This 80’s influenced R&B throwback jam  is one of the highlights of White Women, and features Solange’s beautiful voice throughout the entire track. Solange is definitely the underrated Knowles family member who really is extremely talented. I wish that people would be talking more about her fabulous True EP and her upcoming album instead of how many roundhouse kicks she can throw at Hova. Maybe this song will do the trick. Enjoy your weekend and check out today’s SOTD, “Lost On the Way Home” by Chromeo feat. Solange Knowles.
