10 years ago. Perhaps a lil while longer than that, there were two bands on the super up and up. One was a team made up of one tiny drummer and a young no fear playing rock and roll guitarist of the most thrasher proportions. Two; a band of lyrical merry men who helped define the shape of intelligent West Coast hip-hop. Today we’re talking about the White Stripes and Jurassic 5.

The docu style video serving as our Jumpoff features sampling from the White Stripes track “Door Bell,” shot at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, and produced by the late Heavy D. Time, she glides.

Next week we’re giving it to you live with Phantogram, and letting you in on our interview with the folk band Jamestown Revival as we speak with them while on tour in Chicago.

Enjoy your weekend!
