Who needs Carlos D? Diehard Interpol fans will say that after they hear the band’s latest effort, El Pintor, their first effort without long term bassist, Carlos D, who left the band last year. That leaves three remaining members of the American based band who really got back to their rock roots on this long awaited LP. “All the Rage Back Home” is not only today’s SOTD but it’s the lead single off this strong new effort from singer Paul Banks, guitarist Daniel Kessler, and drummer Greg Drudy. Paul Banks took over bass duties on the making of this record, and the band doesn’t really miss a beat. I have always been a big Interpol fan. I thought they were done after their last album, Our Love to Admire. They toured extensively and got worn out. Banks made a solo record, and it seemed like the best days of Interpol were gone. But it’s hard to keep a NYC band down, and I’m happy to see their return. “All the Rage Back Home” is a great re-introduction for Interpol. Hope you enjoy it and enjoy your weekend!
