Can you say DREAM COLLABORATION? Ummm, this might be it. First off, I am HUGE Mark Ronson fan. For those who don’t know, Mark Ronson is an English DJ, producer, and singer. He reps New York City and has been the man behind some of the most amazing musical mashups of the past 10 years. Ronson has a flare for the dramatic. He will take a smooth soul groove, throw in a set of horns, and have Ghostface Killah rip a hot verse over it. He was the man behind Amy Winehouse’s incredible Back to Black album. He has produced tracks for Q-Tip, Nikka Costa, Daniel Merriweather, Sean Paul, Mos Def, Lilly Allen, Duran Duran, and Ghostface Killah. He has remixed Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and The Smiths. This dude knows music inside and out. Ronson has been a fixture in the New York City club scene for years. He has released three solo albums that are full of musical gems, 2003’s Here Comes the Fuzz, 2007’s Version, and 2010’s Record Collection. All three albums are packed with funk, soul, hip hop, and dance music. To me, Mark Ronson means a good time. His music is fun and makes you move. And now he has teamed up with one of the baddest musicians on the planet, Mr. Bruno Mars, for his latest project and today’s SOTD. The jam is called “Uptown Funk,” and if this song doesn’t get you in the groove then I don’t know what will. “Uptown Funk” is pure adrenaline and a dance heavy uplifting song that brings a smile to your face and some pep to your step. Please enjoy today’s SOTD, “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars.
