This may be my dream partnership right here. Based on the surefire dopeness of Version and Record Collection, Mark Ronson is one of the illest innovators and creators of music today. Then you have Kevin Parker, the lead singer of Tame Impala, who just happen to be one of the most artistic and creative bands in music today. These two music masters have teamed up on Ronson’s latest album, Uptown Special to create my dream collabo. Thanks guys! You shouldn’t have! And the result…is ridic! Today’s SOTD is the first released collaboration between two of my favorite artists working in music today, Mark Ronson and Kevin Parker. The song is called “Daffodils.” It’s trippy, psychedelic, funky, and just awesome. It sounds like it came straight out of 1978. Parker’s voice is on another level on this track. He has this auto-tuned falsetto that just grooves along with Ronson’s eclectic production. The first three releases from Uptown Special, “Uptown Funk” with Bruno Mars, “Feel Right,” with Mystikal, and now this have Ronson’s latest album shaping up to be an album of the year contender. Enjoy the mystery of “Daffodils” by Mark Ronson feat. Kevin Parker.
