Last week I was featured as part of a story on the “26 Best Places to Run” by Collette Stohler, on Livestrong.com. I’ve been very fortunate to have traveled and run, all over the world. It’s actually one of my favorite things to do on any trip – I feel like you get a truly authentic perspective of a place by getting lost in its streets. For this article Collette took stories of my runs through South Africa, UAE and Iceland, but there are so many other places where I’ve used my running as a way of mapping out the places in a city I wanted to explore that day. It’s truly a lasting part of every travel memory.
Over the past 2 years I’ve sacrificed a lot of my running time to focus on strength training. However, writing for this article has made me a bit nostalgic for my running days. It’s kind of inspired me to get my miles back up around 20-25 per week (and to get some new kicks 🙂 ). Below you’ll find a quick excerpt from my South Africa run, and a link to the full story. I hope you’re as inspired to hit the ground running from reading it, as I was from writing it.
